Brothers, another year has nearly arrived upon us. We want you to be a part of another year in the storied history of Detroit No. 2. We have two events coming up this next month that you and your families won’t want to miss out on. The Lodge Christmas Party has returned! Additionally and as always, this year’s Installation ceremony is an evening that will be remembered for years to come.
LODGE CHRISTMAS PARTY
This year the Christmas party will be held in conjunction with Sojourners Lodge for a combined event like we have not seen in some time! The Christmas party is a pot luck event so you will want to bring your most delicious dish for your admission “fee.” Remember, if you’re bringing little ones to see Santa you’ll want to make sure the age and gender of the child is known to the Lodge in a timely manner as is usual. Santa might be able to work miracles but he does have a limited number of resources to get the right toys by the right time so make sure you talk to Dan Simpson! There is expected to be around 100 people at this event.
Here are the details for the Christmas party this year:
WHEN: Sunday, December 6, 3:00pm – 5:30pm.
WHERE: 500 Temple St. Detroit, MI 48201 – Detroit Masonic Temple – Crystal Ballroom
COST: This a Potluck Event, everyone must bring a dish to pass
RSVP: Brother Dan Simpson. Please include Childs Name, Age. Each Child will receive a gift from Santa.
Lodge will be opened prior to the beginning of the ceremony. This year’s Installation begins at our regular time once again. Ceremony will be in the Commandary Asylum located on the 3rd floor at 5:30pm. Reception and dinner to be served in the Crystal Ballroom at 7:00pm.
As tradition dictates, this is a black tie event. Guests are to be attired accordingly.
The Installation will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12. Reception as is customary will follow with a grand feast served at 7:00pm. This year’s Installation ceremony will be held in the Commandary Asylum on the 3rd floor of the Detroit Masonic Temple. The social and dinner following will be held in the grand Crystal Ballroom which is always an impressive setting. Seating is limited for this event just like any year so your RSVP is necessary for your parties’ attendance. A fee of $40 per reserved guest (or $70 for two tickets) will be collected without exceptions.
It is imperative for Brothers who want to attend either of these events with their families RSVP with haste R.S.V.P. to Senior Deacon Jesse Jacob as seating is limited. Cost is $40 per reservation or $75 for two. Officers are to report down to the Temple no later than 4pm. Contact him at his email address or via telephone.
